UN Tourism and the World Sustainable Hospitality Alliance will work collectively to implement a typical framework for Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) for the sector.

The ESG Framework for Tourism Companies, developed by UN Tourism in collaboration with the College of Oxford SDG Impression Lab, is aimed toward serving to enterprises throughout the sector measure and report their sustainability efforts and impacts extra persistently and reliably. With this new settlement, UN Tourism will work alongside the Alliance to check the Framework, refine its indicators and related instruments, and foster stakeholder engagement.

Companions leverage fields of experience

The partnership comes as tourism companies face growing strain to reveal their ESG actions and impacts. The ESG Framework for Tourism Companies is rooted within the Statistical Framework for Measuring the Sustainability of Tourism (SF-MST), endorsed by the UN Statistical Fee with unanimous help from all 193 UN Member States, and strives to carry better and much-needed alignment between personal and public sector information.

Alongside this, the Alliance’s Web Constructive Hospitality Pathway and Framework is designed to harmonise metrics and key efficiency indicators (KPIs), develop requirements, and streamline reporting inside the hospitality trade.
