Since 2012, Ballet Edmonton, previously Citie Ballet, has taken centre stage as an expert ballet firm presenting authentic work, with a concentrate on modern dance. In 2018, they introduced in acclaimed choreographer Wen Wei Wang as Inventive Director and adjusted the title to Ballet Edmonton to “higher replicate our sense of civic satisfaction,” says Sheri Somerville, Government Director.
“We felt it was necessary to proudly use Edmonton in our title since that’s the place all of us stay and create.”
