Two members of Philly’s culinary neighborhood, Muhammad Abdul-Hadi and Crista Barfield, will be part of Ito as Management Honorees on the awards ceremony on June 10, 2024.

The muse’s Management Awards are reserved for people and organizations dedicated to creating “a safer, extra healthful, equitable and sustainable meals world.”

Abdul-Hadi leads Down North, a North Philly restaurant serving up Detroit-style “pizza with a goal” and solely using previously incarcerated people, whereas Barfield based FarmerJawn, a 128-acre working farm dedicated to creating contemporary, natural meals and details about city farming accessible to underserved Philadelphia communities through a community-supported agriculture (CSA) program, storefronts and academic packages.

Ito, Abdul-Hadi and Barfield are part of an extended line of native expertise which have made their mark on the Beards.
