It’s the most important St. Patrick’s Day celebration within the Caribbean: the annual St. Patrick’s Pageant on the island of Montserrat, the self-styled “Emerald Isle” of the Caribbean.

The occasion runs from March 8 to 17, and the St Maarten-based service is including flights to the island starting Feb. 11, working by March 26.

Flights will run between St Maarten, Antigua and Montserrat each Tuesday and Friday till March 4, when service ramps as much as day by day flights.

The island is the one one exterior of Eire to rejoice St. Patrick’s Day as a nationwide vacation, commemorating a slave rebellion in 1768. It contains every little thing from soca and reggae live shows to avenue parades and pub crawls on the tiny island close to Antigua.

Demand is “rising” for Montserrat through the St. Patrick’s celebrations, in line with Premier Ruben Meade.

“We’ve actively engaged Winair, which has a robust monitor document of service to Montserrat, to assist facilitate the motion of individuals and items into and out of the island.”

The broader purpose is to determine a extra structured flight competition to Montserrat past Montserrat.
